Nice, and nice addition of the collar connected to the top of the spreader bar. And just how long did you last in that one, and how did you end up getting out of it? Was it an interrogation or similar type of challenge, or more of just a safe word and you were let out...that kind of thing?

Have been in that last position. It looks quite simple but is as tough as hell after just a short time. Collar connected to the top of the spreader too, just for extra sport....

E-stim Accessories

If you missed Part 1, you can find it here.

There are several e-stim power boxes out there to choose from, but no good power boxes that I would consider inexpensive. But how do you know which one you’ll like best? There are even more (by far) e-stim accessories. But will the commonly known blue bands get you off, or the conductive rubber loops? Are the silicone cock rings the best way to punish your sub, or should you just stick with the pads that most e-stim boxes include? It sucks spending a lot on e-stim gear, only to have the experience turn out to be pretty boring. Or worse, to compltely turn you and/or your sub off to the entire experience, causing you to never want to try it again.

GBoy has been expressing a strong interest in trying e-stim with me for the first time. You want to know what power boxes and accessories work best, and give you the most bang for your buck. So I figured, why not do both at the same time? Below, you’ll find various e-stim power boxes and several accessories, along with ratings and reviews of each. The ratings and reviews are partially my personal opinions of them, and partially GBoy’s reviews upon his first experience with each. This often changes over time as a sub gets used to e-stim. However, many of you who haven’t tried it are wondering how it feels and what’s best to try first. So this guide should especially help the “e-stim virgins” out there. ;)

As always, make sure bdsm/kink play is safe, sane, and consensual. Never leave your sub alone during bdsm play. Prepare everything needed before restraining your sub so there’s no need to step away until after you’ve released him. When using rope or any tightly fitting cuffs, always periodically feel your sub’s hands/feet/balls (whatever is tied) to ensure they aren’t cold. Cold is a sign of circulation loss which needs to be addressed immediately by removing the restraints in that area before your sub gets hurt.

Specific to this week’s tutorial, it’s important to know your sub and what he can handle BEFORE engaging in this type of play with a sub, especially if he’s restrained, and even moreso if he’s gagged. Make sure he has a safe word, and a safe sound/hand signal equivalent if he’s gagged. If you or your sub aren’t at a point where you trust each other 150%, don’t engage in this type of play until you reach that point. Obviously your sub needs to trust you first, but also, you need to know that you can trust your sub as well. If your sub feels something is too much and you don’t have that level of trust both ways, he may be afraid to tell you, then things can get out of hand.

(As a rule of my own, I won’t even do e-stim play with a sub unless I’ve known him for quite a while and played with him many times before. It’s just better all around, having a better idea of what the sub can handle, as well as building trust first. So Gboy has waited quite a while for this opportunity.) ;)

If your sub has anxiety issues and has never tried e-stim before, be extra cautious and don’t restrain him for his first e-stim session. You don’t want to completely ruin the experience for him and have him never wanting to try it again.

Also, always start on a low e-stim setting when you turn the power box on, then slowly ramp up if/when your sub is ok with it. Once you know your sub’s tolerance level after playing with e-stim with him a few times, you could start slightly higher.

You may choose to restrain your e-stim experienced sub using rope, locking leather cuffs, or whatever you choose. Just be careful using additional toys/gear that may be wet (lube, etc.), as this can create hotspots when using e-stim and might end up being a complete turn-off for your sub.

Put the required batteries into your e-stim power box. Be sure to remove them when done, as you don’t want batteries corroding in your power box which you spent good money on!

Place your choice of e-stim accessories on your sub. Be sure to use the proper gel as this tends to distribute the sensation more evenly and avoids hotspots in undesired areas. See below for recommended gel, which can vary with some accessories.

Turn on the power box at its lowest level. Sometimes the lowest level or two can either not be felt at all by a sub, or it can be a more annoying/prickly feeling than anything. It’s still important to start at the lowest level as every sub has different tolerances to e-stim. If it’s kind of annoying and/or barely felt, you can go up to the next level a few seconds later and see how that level feels.

A detailed list of several e-stim accessories, complete with reviews and feedback from my sub (Gboy, in his hot leather Bulldog Harness), is below. If you don’t like the feeling you get from e-stim when using double accessories (such as two loops, two bands, etc.), you may want to try reversing the black and red electrodes. Different subs feel this in different ways, but it may be as easy as reversing these to make things feel better.

Electro Lockdown Chastity Cage:

This one is a nice idea to for those into chastity and e-stim both, since it combines the two experiences. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend this device for long-term wear. It’s better for use strictly within play sessions. Although I often say it isn’t really chastity until the sub wants out, then he looks down and realizes someone else owns his cock, and even though that probably won’t happen during a short session, I don’t feel it’s all that safe to keep a sub in this device long-term due to plenty of potential pinch points. I’d recommend this one most for either a session of a few hours, or potentially overnight or a weekend of supervised play. Lock it on so your sub can’t jerk off, then if he’s especially bad, all you have to do is plug in the electrodes and punish him. ;)

Recommended gel:

For this one, I recommend using standard electro gel such as Zeus Incite Electrosex Gel, not Tac gel. Since the chastity cage will be locked on anyway, there’s little to no chance of the e-stim contact points slipping. So Tac gel isn’t necessary here. But I’d still recommend some type of gel since it definitely helps make for a better e-stim experience for most subs as it smooths out the would-be “zaps” and “pinching” feelings.

Gboy’s opinion of the Electro Lockdown Chastity Cage:

“The e-stim chastity cage was a very interesting experience. After being put into the cage and my cock automatically trying to get hard and filling the cage, it felt good. As the e-stim was turned on, it compared more the the adjustable penis bands that we tried when it came to the feeling. Definitely made my cock want to stay stiff.”

E-stim Pads:

Most e-stim power boxes include pads, usually 4 of them. Typically you use either 2 pads or 4 pads at the same time, and normally one electrode connects to each pad and the current flows through the sub from one pad to the other. The pads typically have a sticky backing and come with the sticky side stuck to thin pieces of plastic. Most claim that they can be used again and again without losing their stickiness. I’m not so sure how true that is or how long they’d last, from my experience.

A few tips to help make them last longer:

If you can, avoid sticking them on your sub in hairy areas.

Avoid sticking them down, then pulling them up and re-adjusting too many times. Try to get it right the first time, as each time you pull it back up to re-adjust the pad just might be counted as one of those “uses”. For example, if the manufacturer claims a sticky pad will stick on 50 “uses”, you just may use 6 of those uses simply re-adjusting due to poor planning. ;)

As for how the pads feel, I’ve found that subs can handle a lot higher intensities with the pads on areas other than their dick/balls vs. most other accessories. With Gboy, I took him up to level 4 or 5 with most accessories where he reached the max he could handle. With the pads, he could pretty easily handle level 7 or 8 before he reached his limit.

Recommended gel:

For the pads, I recommend using standard electro gel such as Zeus Incite Electrosex Gel, or Tac gel may be better if you find the pads are no longer sticking to your sub. Gel definitely helps make for a better e-stim experience for most subs as it smooths out the would-be “zaps” and “pinching” feelings. For Tac gel, scroll down on this page and click on TacGel.

Gboy’s opinion of the e-stim pads on his inner thighs:

“Not nearly as intense of a feeling as the e-stim on the cock. I felt much stronger against this type of e-stim, but it definitely made my legs quiver.”

Gboy’s opinion of the e-stim pads on area above groin:

“This was interesting as it was making the muscles in my abdomen twitch and flex. Again not as intense as e-stim on the cock area.”

Deluxe Humbler with E-stim attachment points:

This device is a typical Humbler with some added features. If you aren’t familiar with a Humbler, it locks on your sub’s balls while he’s kneeling on all fours, and the ends of the wooden device curve to wrap around the back of his thighs. (See the device in the lower let area of the parts pic near the top of this post.) This prevents your sub from standing up, at least if he likes his balls and wants to keep them intact. ;) Some Humblers have two separate pieces of wood, bolts that go through them, and wing nuts to tighten them. I have one of those, and let me tell you, it’s a pain in the ass to get on a sub without pinching his balls, or worse (accidentally crushing them a bit). The deluxe version linked above takes care of this problem, and adds e-stim attachment points in front and back of your sub’s balls. The deluxe version is hinged so while one hand is wrapped around your sub’s balls, pulling them through the middle hole safely, the other hand can be carefully closing the Humbler allowing it to click shut. Then it requires a key to unlock it, unlike the standard version.

Recommended gel:

For this one, I recommend using standard electro gel such as Zeus Incite Electrosex Gel, not Tac gel. Since the Humbler will be locked on anyway, there’s little to no chance of the e-stim contact points slipping, so Tac gel isn’t necessary here. But I’d still recommend some type of gel since it definitely helps make for a better e-stim experience for most subs as it smooths out the would-be “zaps” and “pinching” feelings.

Gboy’s opinion of the Deluxe Humbler with E-stim attachment points:

Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to try this one. But when getting a good look at it, Gboy thought it looked interesting, devious, kind of humiliating since it keeps the sub down on the floor, and something he really wants to try in the future.

Zeus Deluxe Digital Power Box:

This power box doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some that provide sound activation, motion sensing, or remote functions. It’s not programmable like some of the really expensive power boxes. However, it is one that I’d recommend for e-stim beginners. I say that because it offers several e-stim patterns, not just one. It also has many strength/intensity levels, and it’s a great overall start to see if you like e-stim or not without short changing yourself by trying out a power box with only one function. With one, you either like it or hate it, then many judge e-stim all together based off of that one experience. With this one, you’ve got 7 completely different patterns to try at various levels. If you hate them all, then it’s probably a pretty good assumption that you’re not an e-stim candidate. If you like one or two, it may be worth pursuing, and eventually purchasing more advanced power boxes or different accessories.

Gboy’s opinion of the various functions of the Zeus Deluxe Digital Power Box:

Gboy tried out all functions, because he’s just one of those curious subs who likes to try things at least once. It’s the only way you’ll ever know if you like something or not, right? However, as I suspected from previous experience, he liked Massage and Cupping the most. As far as strengths, he could hardly feel most patterns at levels 1 and 2. (Note: On this box, level 1 shows 1 bar, level 2 still shows 1 bar, at level 3 and 4 a second bar appears, etc. In other words, only 1 bar shows for every 2 levels.) After he got used to things a bit, we quickly went up to level 3 on most patterns, then 4. He maxed out at level 4 on most, but went to level 5 on a few. The only exception was with the pads, which he went as high as level 8 with.

This animated gif shows progression from level 1 through level 10 (again, level 10 on this box is NOT when 10 bars show on the display):
